Gladys A for Agnes Coffey Burton was born in Magnum Oklahoma in 1902 to her Father James Edward Coffey and Mother Maud Alice Yates per Glady's birth certificate. She lived most of her life in Amarillo, TX married to Victor Asa Burton who is buried next to her in space 11. Gladys had one sibling Reuben Francis Coffey my maternal grandfather married to my maternal grandmother Josephine Merrell. Reuben Francis died just before his 40th birthday in 1936 when my Mother was only 11-yrs-old. Reuben Francis is buried in Portales, New Mexico. I found a paper trail for Gladys' Alice & Reuben Francis' Father James Edward Coffey called "Ed" born in Illinois about 1875. Glady's death certificate is signed by a Dr. in Zapata, TX. Potter County, and states she is buried at Memorial Park Cemetery, Amarillo, TX. I have attached a © copyright-protected photo of Gladys A. Coffey Burton from my Mother's estate existing nowhere else legally except with her family. Gladys Agnes and Victor Asa Burton had 2 children. Her son's name is Earnest Burton b. 1919 in Colorado. Her daughter is Anita Frances Burton Wilson b. 1922 in Amarillo, Potter County, TX d. Mar 09, 2009, in Amarillo, TX. I know my mother and her sisters really liked their Aunt Gladys. My Granny Josephine (Gladys'sister in law) also adored and loved Gladys Agnes naming one of her daughters Gladys Alice after her Aunt Gladys. My Mother's sister and Gladys Burton's niece Gladys Alice Coffee Henderson (who died with the surname Henning was a WWII Women's Army Corp WAC as was her sister Helen Wall both assigned to the WWII top-secret atom bomb projects in Tennessee & New Mexico. Grand Aunt Gladys Agnes Coffey Burton was very proud of her four nieces and they loved her. I also contacted S. Laurent some years ago who also left Aunt Gladys flowers. Thank you to all.
