Anna Hewlett Harris is left a widow with 3 young children, Ora age 15 years, Samuel age 10 years and her little daughter Edith only 5 years of age, older daughters Grace 18 years & Mabel 17 years, helped with their younger sisters and brother.

The former Anna Hewett was born on January 23rd 1860 in North Fork Twp. Delaware County, Iowa, to parents Mary Ann Binning and William Hewlett. Anna was the 5th child of 6 children, a infant sister Tamer A Hewlett preceded her in death before Anna was born. She was named Tamara "Annie" Hewlett but went by the name Anna.

Anna Hewlett was reared and educated in North Fork Twp. Delaware County, Iowa. She was raised by her stepfather, William Anstey from the age of 3 years, her father William Hewlett passed away in 1862.

Anna Hewett was united in marriage on December 5th 1881, in Ringgold County, Iowa to John Harris. They moved back to Grand River, Decatur, Iowa. John & Anna Hewlett and 4 young children moved to Saline, Kansas in 1901, leaving family and friends. John Harris passed away on 10 Nov 1907 in Saline County, Kansas.

Anna Harris returned to Iowa in 1915, where she continued to farm with the help of her daughters, Grace and Edith and son Samuel. Here she remained for the next ten years. She was a farmer's wife and a farmer. Anna belonged to the Latter Day Saints.

Anna Hewett Harris was a devoted wife, loving daughter, sister, mother and grandmother.

Preceded in death by 2 infant children, her parents, her stepfather William Anstey, her husband of 26 years, John Harris, sisters: Tamer A Hewlett & Sarah Hewlett, brothers: John & Richard Hewlett.

Those left to mourn her passing are daughters: Minnie Jane (Harris) Engstrom & family, Grant, Lincoln, Kansas, Grace Harris, Lamoni, Decatur, Iowa, Mabel Harris, Ohio, Saline, Kansas, Ora Harris (Frank) Armstrong & son, Salina County, Kansas, Edith Elma Harris (Claude)Dickerson & family, Bloomington, Decatur, Iowa, son: Samuel Clyde Harris, Lamoni, Decatur, Iowa, sister: Mary Ann Hewlett Evans, Decatur County, Iowa, half brothers: Frederick Lincoln Anstey, William Elsworth Anstey, half sister Minnie May Anstey Millard and 8 grandchildren.

Annie Hewlett Harris was laid to rest by her husband in Bavaria Cemetery, Bavaria, Saline County, Kansas.
