Robert Hasley
TIPTON -- Funeral for Robert Hasley, 88, Tipton, will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Bonnie Wilkinson and the Rev. Charlie Graves officiating.
Mr. Hasley died Sunday, June 27, 2004, at a Frederick hospital.
Burial will be at Tipton Cemetery under direction of Jackson Funeral Home, Frederick.
He was born June 23, 1916, to William Theodore and Orpha Easley Hasley in Tipton. He attended Tipton Public Schools and graduated with the class of 1935. He married LaVera S. Simpson on July 12, 1939. She died Sept. 13, 2001. He was a farmer in the Tipton area for many years. He was employed by Tillman Oil & Gas as a fuel deliverer. He later read meters and served as dispatch for Southwest Rural Electric. He was a member of First United Methodist Church, Tipton. He was a member of the Methodist Men. He was also a former councilman and mayor for the City of Tipton.
Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Randy and Nancy Hasley, Frederick; a grandson, Travis Hasley; and a host of nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; a son, John Weldon Hasley; two brothers: Dewey and Lester Hasley; eight sisters: Buna Lovejoy, Mae Johnston, Esther Hasley, Opal Hasley, Velma Bryan, Willa Meek, Epha Newman and Floye Laird.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Tipton Senior Citizens or First United Methodist Church, Tipton.
