Born Dec. 23, 1929, in Detroit to Walter and Martha Worley Cole, she married John Coombs on June 19, 1948, in Peoria. He survives.

Also surviving are one son, Stephen of East Peoria; two daughters, Mrs. Lewis (Chris) McClaskey and Mrs. Michael (Connie) Richmond, both of East Peoria; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

One brother preceded her in death.
