Alan was a voracious hobbyist; He spent many years as a drag racer, setting a national record and collecting several NHRA awards. He also built custom motorcycles for years, achieving membership in the elite custom motorcycle group, Hamsters. Alan was known for both his cooking and his desire to feed everyone he could. He loved his family dearly and was extremely proud of his children, including his new granddaughter, whom he called Peanuts. Most of all, though, Alan loved his Savior, and shared that love with every person he came in contact with.
Alan is survived by: his wife, Nancy of the home; son Kyle and wife Jaime; daughters Candace and husband Blaine Brooks, and Heather and fiancé Barrett Brown; his granddaughter Amery Brooks; brothers Gary and wife Julie and Terry and wife Kim Spencer; parents Clary and Thelma Spencer, step-father James Baxter, and many nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, and uncles, and beloved friends.
Preceded in death by his mother Wilma Baxter.
