Funeral services for Bette Summers Moak, of Bogue Chitto, are 11 a.m. on Wednesday, July 21, at Bethel Baptist Church in Bogue Chitto, with burial in Bethel Cemetery. The Revs. Jeff Davis, Mike Morris and Damon Williamson will officiate. Brookhaven Funeral Home on Natchez Drive is in charge of arrangements.

Visitation is Tuesday from 5 until 9 p.m. at the funeral home and Wednesday from 10 a.m. until the time of the service at the church.

Mrs. Moak, 73, died July 18, 2010, at her residence. She was born in Brookhaven on Oct. 24, 1936, to Herman Summers and Daisy Waldrop Summers.

She was a homemaker. She was a member of Bethel Baptist Church, where she was a former Sunday School teacher of the adult women's class.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her grandsons, John Curtis Dunaway and Zachary Dunaway; her sister, Katherine Norwood; and her brothers, Billy Joe Summers and Donald Eugene Summers.

Survivors are her husband, Dennis Moak, of Bogue Chitto; her son, Michael Moak and wife, Becky, of Summit; her daughters, Pamela Dunaway and husband, Curtis, and Kayla Alexander, all of Bogue Chitto; her grandchildren, Renee Elizabeth Howell and husband, Donelson, of Knoxville, Tenn., Bethany Denise Wright and husband, Lee, of Brookhaven, Ashley Stephens, of Summit, Madison Moak, of Summit, Shawn Alexander, of South Carolina, and Karla Martin, of Bogue Chitto; her great-grandsons, Brayden Wright and Landon Jacob Wright, both of Brookhaven; and numerous nieces and nephews.
