Bryant's second marriage was to Margaret (Carey) (Brown) Edgerton and they had no children together.

Margaret had two children from a previous marriage:

Walter Carey Brown and
Alice (Brown) Chase.

Bryant was President and CEO of both Edgerton & Sons Trucking Co., Inc. and Edgerton & Sons Rigging Co., Inc. Bridgeport, Connecticut which were both sold in February 1967 to William B. Meyer Movers, Inc. of Bridgeport, Connecticut.

Thus, Bryant and his two brothers, Fay and Al, took a long needed and well deserved retirement. Well done gentlemen, the "Ace" must be pleased.

Bryant was a member of the: American Trucking Association; Connecticut Transport Authority; and the Eastern Motor Frieght Association.

He was a 32nd-Degree Mason and a member for 50 years.

He was the past commander of the American Lodge of Masons, Stratford, Connecticut.

Bryant was a member of the Bridgeport Civitan Club for 35 years.

Bryant became a member of the Order of Eastern Star, Azalia Chapter # 2 in January 1945.

Bryant was also a member of the Shriners, Hamilton Commandery.

During WW II he served on the National Recovery Act Code Authority in Bridgeport, Connecticut.

A resident of Newtown, Connecticut for 37 years he and Margaret lived on Lake Zoar. And, although he started loosing his sight in the nineteen forties he was legally blind when he lived in Newtown and became active in town politcs. He was a former Chairman of the Republican Town Committee.

Bryant was a member of the Newtown Congregational Church.

Bryant and Margaret's neighbors, Dr. Harvey and Kathy Wachsman, were more than just neighbors and friends. They were loving and caring people to Margaret and Bryant not only over the years but in the final weeks, days, and hours of their lives. May God love these two caring people now and forever, ~always~.

Dads favorite pastimes were playing his always highly polished saphone and their church size organ which they had in their living room and best of all - being on Lake Zoar in his boat the "Swamp Yank".

With vocal help from others he would steer his 28 foot 1929 vintage Chris Craft on Lake Zoar and ride for hours ~always~ smiling, ~always~ happy.

and Grandson of Maria Susan (Bryant) Edgerton, the daughter of Clarence and Amelia (Spencer) Bryant of Hartford, Conn., who was born April 1848 in Hartford, Conn. and died 2 March 1933 in West Hartford, Conn. and is buried in Fairview Cemetery with her husband Ferry.

Clinton Dewitt was the son of Joshua and Roxanna Edgerton and born 17 April 1814 in upper New York. He died 30 May 1883 in Hartford, Conn.
Mary Amelia was the daughter of Ornan and Nancy (Mills) Fox.
She was born 17 June 1817 in New Boston, Mass. and died 10 Jan 1907 in Hartford, Conn. She and her husband, Clinton Dewitt, are buried in the Old North Cemetery in Hartford, Conn.
