Thomas Allen
Funeral services will be conducted in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints at 1528 The Esplanade at 2 p.m. Wednesday for Thomas Allen, 77, of 992 E. 16th St., who died Saturday in Austin, Nev., while on his way to visit a son in South Carolina.
Allen was born in Provo, Utah, June 18, 1891, and spent his childhood years there. Before moving to Chico in 1952 he lived in Las Vegas, Nev., where he worked for the Union Pacific Railroad Co.
Survivors include four sons, John A. and Thomas F., both of Chico, Joseph K. of South Carolina and W. Don of San Jose; two daughters, Mrs. Esther LaBranch of Chico and Donna F. Vitale of San Jose; four brothers, Taylor, Leo and Elwood, all of Utah, and Roy of San Jose; three sisters, Mrs. Lydia Hilton, Mrs. Priscilla Jensen and Mrs. Edna Robinson, all of Utah; 20 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren. Allen's wife, Cora S. Allen, died Oct. 7.
Interment will be in the Glen Oaks Memorial Park.
