Nancy was born in South Carolina. She and her family traveled in a wagon, in the spring of 1828 to settle in Indian territory, Dark Corner, Ga. (Winston). She and John were married on 13 Nov 1842, in Campbell Co., GA. They had the following children:

3. Hannah L. b 1847
4. Margaret Elizabeth b 1849
5. John Kennedy b 1851
6. Julia b 1854
7. Mary Lura b 1859
8. James D. b 1861
9. Georgia Sherman b 1864
