Mrs. Minnie Houston Crane, 62, wife of C. J. Crane, died at the family home last night following a brief illness. She had been suffering from high blood pressure for an extended period and had a serious illness a month ago. She had apparently recovered but became critically sick again Sunday.

Funeral services will be held at the First Presbyterian Church Thursday afternoon, 3 o'clock, with the Rev. Stuart H. Salmon, pastor, officiating, and burial will be made at Elmwood Cemetery. A number of out-of-town people will attend the services.

Pallbearers will be S. E. Vall, W. H. Easley, J. Nick Thomas, Dixie Crawford, L. D. Chamblin and Zol B. Harrison.

Mrs. Crane, who was born at Woodville, Tennessee, came here 27 years ago and since that time has become widely known. She was an ardent worker in the First Presbyterian Church in which Mr. Crane has long been an officer.

Besides her husband, she is survived by two daughters, Miss Kate Crane of Verona, New Jersey, who arrived this afternoon, and Mrs. Louise Crane Hiler of here, and one son, Charlton, of Plaquemine, La., who arrived this morning. Another son, Houston, died several years ago after having been an invalid for many years from an accident sustained while skating.
