Shirley Ann Mattera passed away September 6, 2003. She was born March 3, 1936 in San Pedro and was a lifetime resident. Shirley worked at Mary Star of the Sea Elementary and High School for 20 yrs and was the directors secretary at San Pedro Peninsula Pavillion. She is preceded in death by her parents, John and Doris Buratovich; also granddaughter, Marisa Vuoso. She is survived by her husband of 47 years, Ben Mattera; sons, John (Tina), and Tony Mattera; daughters, Debbie (Marco) Vuoso, and Donna (Mike) Vanden Dries; grandchildren, Christine, John, Shontae, and Ryan Mattera, Marc and Eric Vuoso, Nicholas, and Christian Vanden Dries; great grandchild, Eddie Velasquez; numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. Funeral Mass will be offered Friday, 10:30 AM at Mary Star of the Sea Church. Interment at Green Hills Memorial Park. Visitation will be today from 4-7 PM at McNerney's Mortuary San Pedro 310-832-8351
