Wayne G. Bass, Sr., age 84, of Dallas, passed away on Monday, November 12, 2007. He was born to Earnest D. & Kittie Lorene Bass on June 12, 1923, in Atlanta. Wayne attended Boys High in Atlanta, graduated from the Georgia Military Academy, and attended Georgia State College. He was an Army veteran of World War II and served in the Marine Corps Reserves during the Korean War. He loved fishing, camping, traveling, collecting coins, the V.F.W., playing pool and being with friends. Wayne was employed at Lockheed Martin in Marietta, Georgia for thirty-three years. He was a kind person who helped many people in life, and always treated people the way he would have wanted to be treated.
Beloved husband of Betty Bass; step-father and best friend of Gilbert Yearwood (Vicky), Dallas, GA; loving brother of Barbara Hezlett (Paul), St. Augustine, FL; loving father of William E. Bass (Carol), Marietta, GA, Sara Ellen Schaffnett, St. Louis, MO, and Martha Ziegenhals (Allen),Wharton, TX; step-father of Jim Yearwood (Jan), Dallas, GA, Robby Yearwood (Teresa), Dallas, GA, and Donna Taylor (Doug), Douglasville, GA; grandfather of Edward Wayne Bass, Charleston, SC, Dustin and Sean Foster, El Campo, TX, Darryl and Jennifer Bass, Houston, TX, and Griffin Schaffnet, St. Louis, MO; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his son Wayne G. Bass, Jr. and step-grandsons, Sam Reed and Chris Yearwood.
A Christian Burial service will be celebrated in the Chapel at Clark Funeral Home on Wednesday, November 14, 2007, at 11:00 a.m. Burial will be at Arlington Cemetery in Sandy Springs, GA, immediately following the service. The family will receive relatives and friends at the funeral home on Tuesday from 5:00pm until 8:00pm.

Wayne Glover Bass, Sr. (aka "Sonny") first married Sally Polk Williams, second Loula Nixon Cantrell (July 27, 1930-December 1974, died from breast cancer) and third Betty Joyce Black.
