Mrs. Fannie Francis Selman, the wife of W. M. Selman and mother of W. Carl Selman, died at the family residence here at midnight Thursday, following a stroke of paralysis earlier in the week. The body was taken I charge by Phillips and Luckey and rested at the Funeral Home until Saturday afternoon when services were held at three o'clock with Rev. J. Claude Pruitt, of the Apostolic church officiating. Interment was made in Oak Lawn Cemetery.
Mrs. Selman attended funeral services of a friend Monday afternoon, after which she went to do Christmas shopping. She became ill while in town and paralysis followed immediately.
Deceased, age 58 years, was a member of an Alabama family who were pioneers of the Confederacy. She had lived in Denton and Brown counties before coming to Rockdale to reside four years ago. She was known for her love of flowers and thoughtfulness to the sick and had made many friends during her life spent here.
Besides her husband and son, of Rockdale, a young grandson of Denton also survives.
