Pollard Edwards Dies Monday.
Pollard N. Edwards, 54, died at 7 a.m. Monday at Welborn Baptist Hospital in Evansville an hour after he was admitted. He had been a patient in Cardwell Hospital in Providence since October 23.
Mr. Edwards, who was assistant manager of the Providence plant of Ruby Lumber Company, was an elder and Sunday School superintendent of the Cumberland Presbyterian Church. He became a member of the church on November 3, 1935, was ordained a deacon in 1939 and a ruling elder in 1949. He was born December 6, 1903.
He was a member of Providence Kiwanis Club.
Surviving are the wife, the former Miss Winfred Seymour; mother, Mrs. Taylor Edwards, Providence; one sister, Mrs. Gus Boitnett, Larned, Kan.; and three brothers, Texil of Princeton, Heber E. of Caldwell County and Hilton Edwards of Cincinnati, Ohio.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Cumberland Presbyterian Church, with the Rev. R.T. Mitchell, former pastor, officiating, assisted by the pastor, the Rev. Morris Clark, and the Rev. James Crowell, pastor of Second Baptist Church.
Pallbearers were Dee Fox, Jack Fox, Lawrence Walker, Paul Northern, Robert Sisk and L.D. Wallace.
Burial was in Lakeview Cemetery.
