Services for Frances Leonard, 81, of Gainesville are set for 2 p.m. Friday at First Christian Church with Rev. Mark Loewen officiating. Private interment is set for 11 a.m. Friday at Fairview Cemetery under the direction of the Geo. J. Carroll & Son Funeral Home of Gainesville.

Mrs. Leonard died Sept. 19, 2006, at her residence.

She was born May 4, 1925, in Hale Center to Miley and Martha Andress Woodruff. Her mother died when Frances was at an early age and she was reared in Gainesville in the home of her sister and brother-in-law, Willowdean and Eddie Green. On Feb. 16, 1957, she married Earl "Bud" Leonard in Gainesville. While living in Dallas, she was employed as an instructor at the Arthur Murray Dance Studio. Upon returning to Gainesville, she became a secretary at Standard Reserve Insurance Company. She was a talented seamstress and enjoyed painting and reading. She was a member of the First Christian Church.

Survivors include her husband, Earl "Bud" Leonard; sons and daughters-in-law, Mark and Becky Leonard and Lyndon and Lonnie Leonard; grandchildren, Carmen Tomsu, David Leonard and Matt Leonard; three step-grandchildren; one great-grandchild; one step-great-grandchild; and brothers, Howard Woodruff and Roy and Jack Woodruff.
