Sarah "Sally" Jane Harris Carr was born Friday, November 12, 1880 in DeKalb County, Alabama, to Lewis Pinkney "Pink" Harris and Dolly Angeline Thrasher Harris.

She married George Lakin Carr, a son of Joseph Carr and Mary Margaret Vandergriff Carr .

They were married on Friday, March 25, 1898 in Etowah County, Alabama at the home of the bride's parents. Their ceremony was performed by John A. Johnson, Minister of the Gospel.

The nine children of Sally and Lakin Carr are, with the first three children being born in in Etowah County, Alabama .

(1.) Edna Lera Carr Clay (born May 4, 1899) she married Jessie Thomas Clay.

(2.) Gurley Douglas "Bud" Carr (born Jan 7, 1902) he married Mary Lotilde Lankford.

(3.) Louis Neal Carr (born Feb. 17, 1904) he married Sally Lorena Norwood.

(4.) William Samuel Carr (born August 30, 1906) he married Mattie Lee Swindell.

(5.) Dollie Estelle Carr Andrews (born Feb. 15, 1909) she married Lucious Franklin Andrews.

(6.) Annie Margaret Carr Killian (born Sept. 28, 1911) she married Jack Killian.

(7.) Daniel Carthell Carr (born June 27, 1914) he married Lottie Ruth Lawson.

(8.) Margie Louise Carr (She married Archie Rogers)
