Joseph J. DeCarlo, 80, a World War II veteran and lifelong resident of the Chicago area, died Friday in the Regency Nursing Center in Niles. Mr. DeCarlo grew up in Chicago and moved to Norridge in 1960, where he lived until his death, said his son, Joseph. He served in France and Germany during World War II and worked at a Navy ordnance plant in Forest Park upon returning home, Joseph DeCarlo said. After retiring from the plant, Mr. DeCarlo worked in maintenance for a downtown high-rise building. He is survived by his wife, Carmella; another son, Phillip; a daughter, Donna Johns; three grandchildren; a brother; and three sisters. Services will be held at 8:30 a.m. Monday in Salerno's Rosedale Chapels, 450 W. Lake St., Roselle, with a 10 a.m. mass at St. Rosalie Church, 4401 N. Oak Park Ave., Harwood Heights.
