Murphy Lanham, 77, of 11 Blackford Ave died at 4:30 a.m. Sunday at Turtle Creek Convalescent Center. Lanham was a former employe of Deaconess Hospital. He was a native of Marion, Ky. and a member of Bells Mines Ky Cumberland Presbyterian Church.


Surviving are his wife, Clara; two daughters, Mrs. Lucile Shackelford of Lansing, Mich. and Mrs. Katherine Rich, Brownsville, Tex.; a sister, Mrs. Oma Fritts of Marion; two brothers, Claude and Ed Marion, Ky.; five grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.


Friends may call from 11 a.m. Monday until 8 a.m. Tuesday at Boone Funeral Home. The body then will be taken to the Tucker Funeral Home in Marion, Ky. where services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday. The Rev. Max Hormsby will officiate. Burial will be in Mapleview Cemetery in Marion.
