Joseph "Reg" O'Malley, 86, died Wednesday, July 7, at Cedar Valley Hospice Home.

He was born September 7, 1923 in Waukon, son of Joseph Francis and Loretta Connoe O'Malley. He married Charlotte Anne Regan on April 26, 1948 in Waukon. She died March 9, 2010.

He was in the U.S. Navy, serving during World War 2. He worked for the Rath meat packing plant and was self-employed in the area.

Survived by four sons, Robert (Sarah) of Bella Vista, Arkansas, Thomas (Sellie) of Fort Wayne, Indiana, David (Liz) of Waterloo, Anthony (Cindy) of North Port, Forida; one daughter, Susan Jans of Tucson, Arizona; 18 grandchildren; 18 great-granchildren; two brothers, Bill (Darlene) and Pat (Dorothy), all of Cedar Rpids; and one sister, Mary Ellen Zoll of Cedar Rapids.

Preceded in death by one son, Joseph; two infant daughters; one brother, Dennis O'Malley; and one son-in-law, Dennis Jans.

Services 10:30 a.m. Mondat at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, with burial in Mount Olivet Cemetery. Full military rites conducted by Waterloo AMVETS Post 19 and Evansdale AMVETS Post 31. Public visitation from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. Sunday at Hagarty-Waychoff-Grarup Funeral Service on South Street, with a 4:00 p.m. rosary by the Ambassadors of Mary an a 7:00 p.m. vigil. Visitation also for an hour before services Monday at the church.
