In 1940 she married Raymond Lee Shannon, and they had two children - Patrick & Sharon.
Tragically, she passed away in 1948 at age 26 as a result of a bout with bronchial asthma. The house she lived in was next to the train tracks, along which many open top coal cars were hauled. The coal dust continually aggravated her condition and eventually it just became too much for her.
She was greatly missed by all in the family, her kids especially. Even us grandkids mourn the loss of the chance to ever know our grandmother.
God Bless your soul, grandma Mary Lou. Rest in peace.
