Della Arthur 1910-2004
Della Wise Johson Arthur, 94, of Flatwoods, joined hands with the Master on Friday, June 25, 2004.
She was born March 15, 1910, in Greenup County, a daughter of the late Andrew and Hannah Caudill Johson.
Preceding her in death are five brothers and three sisters; and her husband of 59 years, Andrew E Arthur.
Della was a graduate of Morehead State Teacher's College. She was a teacher, having taught in the Greenup County School system and retired from the Russell Independent School system.
She was a Charter Member of First Baptist Church of Flatwoods where she taught Sunday school for many years and unfailingly an enlightened member of the congregtion.
She is survived by her sons, Bobby(Judy)Arthur of Wurtland and Bill(Sandy)Arthur of Lexington; and a daughter, Kathy(john)Ball of Pinson, Ala., five grandchildren, James Milton Arthur Flatwoods, Tim Arthur of Lexington, Terri Arthur Kenburger of Louisville, and John Ball and Joe Ball both of Pinson, Ala.
Also surviving are two great-granddaughters, Emily and Katie Arthur of Nicholasville.
Friends may call from 6 to 9 p.m. on Sunday June 27 at Carman Funeral Home in Flatwoods.
Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. on Monday at the funeral home with the Rev. Jack Edwards officiating. Burial will be in the Bellefonte Memorial Gardens.
