DIED—Wednesday night of last week the icy hand of death came through our city and claimed, Goldie, the infant daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Keith. Little Goldie was only spared a few short months with those dear ones yet, long enough to brighten their home and make it sad to say the last farewell.

Obituary.

Died, at her home near Hedge City, Mo., Dec. 9th, 1897, little Goldie Ernestine infant daughter of Robert and Francis Kieth [sic], age six months and two days. After three long weeks of untold suffering little Goldie passed away. I do not think that for six short months a sweeter gem ever decked an earthly home. She leaves to mourn her loss a fond father and mother, two loving brothers and many relatives and friends, and we do earnestly extend our deepest and most heartfelt sympathy to those bereaved ones, and we earnestly pray that while they feel that the hand of God is laid heavily upon them may they also be enabled to feel that it is in love and wisdom that he has called her to be one of his brightest gems in our Saviour's kingdom. May those beautiful eyes that looked so loving and pleadingly into ours, in her extreme suffering, ever be pleading and beckoning her loved ones to heaven; may her sweet life that brightened their home for six short months with its presence make bright their lives with christian love which will lead into that brighter and happier home where she has gone to dwell.

Funeral services were conducted by Brother Boon of Novelty, at the home, after which the remains of Little Goldie was laid to rest in the Novelty grave yard to await the resurrection day, when we all hope to meet where partings will never come.

Another little lamb has gone
To dwell with him above,
Another little darling babe
Is sheltered in the grave.

God needed one more angel child
Amidst his shining band,
And so he bent his loving smile
And clasped our darling's hand.

Obituary

Death, as a robber, came to the home of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Keith, of Hedge City, on the evening of Dec. 8th, 1897, and claimed Golden Earnestine, a beautiful little babe 6 months, (a charm in the home) and left a pall of sorrow in her stead. The sorrowing family have the sympathy of all.

Through cloud and storm encompass thee,
Be not afflicted nor afraid;
Thou knowest the shadow could not come,
Were there no sun beyond the shade.

Only a little child,
God to us had given;
Pure and undefiled,
Only fit for Heaven.

Only a little child,
Such as Jesus blessed;
We were unreconciled,
Only, He thought best.

A Friend.
