Mrs. Mary Elizabeth Battiste - A native of Birmingham, Ala., and a resident of Mobile for the past 36 years, died at a local hospital Sunday Dec. 18, 1977 at 2:00 p.m. She was a member of Dawes Baptist Church.
She is survived by one daughter, Mrs. James G. (Donna Mae) Puckett, Mobile, one son Mr. Noel Keith Battiste, Mobile, her mother, Mrs. Ethel Mae Beasley, Mobile, one sister Mrs. William A. (Sue) Johnson, Mobile , one brother, Mr. Milton H. Beasley, Mobile, one granddaughter, Miss Nicole Puckett, nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Funeral services will be held from Dawes Baptist Church Tuesday, Dec. 20, 1977 at 11:00 a.m. Her remains will lie in state one hour prior to funeral time. The family will receive friends after 4:00 p.m. Monday Dec. 19, 1977 at the funeral home. Interment will be in Mobile Memorial Gardens. Funeral arrangements by Belmany Funeral Home.
