Dorothy Boyar Ciprich, 96, formerly of Forty Fort, died early Tuesday morning, July 13, 2010, at the Wilkes-Barre General Hospital. She was born in Plains Township on July 6, 1914, and was a daughter of the late William and Blanche Patton. Dorothy had resided at Hi-Meadows Apartments, Dallas, and Princeton Court, Wilkes-Barre. Previously, she had resided on Wesley Street in Forty Fort for many years. She was a member of Forty Fort Presbyterian Church and formerly a member of Forty Fort United Methodist Church. She had formerly taught Sunday school at the church. Preceding her death are her husbands, Joseph Ciprich, 2005, and Benjamin Boyar, who was one of 12 who died in the Knox Mine Disaster in the Port Griffith section of Pittston in 1959; and also a brother, William Patton. Surviving are her daughters, Elaine Jones of Forty Fort, and Linda Davenport, Forty Fort; son Richard Boyar and his wife, Joann, of Wyoming; five grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; as well as nieces and nephews. Private funeral service will be held at the convenience of the family from the Hugh B. Hughes & Son Inc. Funeral Home, 1044 Wyoming Ave., Forty Fort, with her pastor, the Rev. William N. Lukesh, officiating. The interment will be private at Memorial Shrine Cemetery, Carverton. Memorial contributions, if desired, can be made to Forty Fort Presbyterian Church, 1224 Wyoming Ave., Forty Fort.
