Born April 1, 1928, in Yuma, Tenn., to James Sidney and Georgia Ethel Cunningham Bolen, he married Martha J. "Marty" Magold. She survives.
Also surviving are one daughter, Meryl of Normal; three sons, Joe of East Peoria, Marc of Washington, Ill., and Morris of California; eight grandchildren; and one sister, Bea Bratten of Nashville, Tenn. He was preceded in death by one son, Steve, and one brother.
A Caterpillar Inc. employee for 33 years, he retired as an inspector in 1982. An Army veteran, he was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2078 in East Peoria.
He was a member of Hilton Lodge 1143, AF&AM; Scottish Rite Bodies, Valley of Peoria; Mohammed Temple, Shrine in Peoria; and Order of Eastern Star Chapter 1002. He also was a Mohammed Shrine Chanter.
He was of the Lutheran faith.
Burial will be in Fondulac Cemetery in East Peoria.
