Obit: Mrs. Johnnie Bess (Thompson) Franklin, age 81, of Stone Mountain, GA passed away Sunday, July 11,2010. She retired from Southern Bell after 37 years of service and was a faithful member of Rehoboth Baptist Church in Tucker. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and a loyal friend to all that knew her. Mrs. Franklin was preceded in death by her four brothers, three sisters, and her husband, the father of her four children, James D. Franklin. Surviving are her children, Teresa and Scott Carter, Dorinda and David Smith, Tam and Brent Goulding, and Jimmy and Kim Franklin; nine grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and several special nieces, nephews and freinds. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, July 13, 2010 at 11:00 AM in the chapel of A. S. Turner & Sons. Burial will be in the Old Peachtree Road Cemetery in Suwanee, GA.
