William Wesley Clement was living in Madison Co. AR in 1850 with his 8 children who ranged in age from 4 months of age to 18 years. His wife, and the mother of his 8 children, Elizabeth Skaggs had died in August of that year. He packed up his children and set out for Texas to find his oldest brother, Mannen Clement, who had moved to Grayson Co. Texas about 10 years earlier. When he got to Texas he took his family to Lamar Co. which is located just east of where his brother was living in Grayson Co. His children grew to adulthood in Lamar Co. TX and married there. Descendants of many of his children still live in Lamar Co. TX. William Wesley Clement is buried in an "unmarked" grave next to his 2nd wife, Lavinia Chunn Chism Clement,
