Reynel, of Chimayo, passed away at the Española Hospital. He was predeceased by parents Epimenio and Cipriana Bustos; his wife Edwarda (D: 24 May 1990); brothers: Delfinio "Delfin", Jose Isa, and Emiliano Maximiliano; and 3 sisters: Corine Martinez, Samuelita Pacheco, and Ruby Pacheco.

Reynel was survived by brother Esequiel Bustos of Ranchitos; sisters Cleo Martinez of El Llano and Esther Montoya of Española; and other relatives.

In 1920, Ranchitos; Reinel was enumerated with his parents Epimenio and Cipriana Bustos; and siblings: Rube, Jose I., Samuela, Maximiliano, Delfinio, and Esequiel Bustos (1920 Census).

In 1930, Chamita; Reynel was enumerated with his parents Epimenio and Ciprianita Bustos; and siblings: Delfinio, Sequel, Cleotilde, Esther, and Corina Bustos (1930 Census).
