COOKEVILLE Funeral services for Lecil Pless Huffer, 79, of Cookeville will be held at 1 p.m. on Monday, July 29, from the chapel of Cookeville Funeral Home. Military graveside services will follow by the Veterans Honor Guard at Crestlawn Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. tonight, and on Monday from 12 p.m. until the time of the services at the funeral home.
Mr. Huffer died on Saturday, July 27, 2002, at Cookeville Regional Medical Center.
He was born Jan. 19, 1923, in Clay County to the late Thomas Barlow and Sally Lou Abston Huffer. Mr. Huffer was a farmer, Army veteran of World War II, and a member of the Church of Christ.
His family includes his wife, Millie Netherton Huffer of Cookeville; a sister, Bea Hensley of Kingston; a stepson,
Jeff Wall of Chattanooga; two stepgrandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Huffer was preceded in death by three brothers: Ormel, Ray, and Allen Huffer; two sisters: Melia Siler and Ola Smith.
