Steve Swan fought a valiant battle against liposarcoma. He was born at Old Adventist Hospital to Walter A. and Euncie J. (Cooper) Swan. Steve graduated from Milwaukie High School in 1958 and served in the U.S. Air Force from 1963 through 1967, ending his service in Vietnam. In 1986, he married Bea Cole. Steve was preceded in death by his parents; and niece, Marci Swan Brotherton. He is survived by his wife, Bea Swan; daughters, Cindy Patelzick (John) and Joan Teach (Kevin); son, Dean Cole (Terryl); five grandsons; two granddaughters; three great-grandchildren; brothers, Walter (Dianne), Stan (Chris), and Tony; sister, Sarah Manns (Ray); seven nephews; one niece; great-nieces and -nephews; cousins; and many, many friends. He was loved dearly by all. A service will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, July 23, 2010, in Kairos-Milwaukie United Church of Christ, 4790 S.E. Logus Road, Milwaukie, OR 97222. In lieu of flowers, please donate to Serenity Hospice or Caring Bridge. We would like to thank Serenity Hospice and the Veterans Affairs Medical Center for his great care.
