John Milton Conover, 88, well-known citizen of the White Oak community, died Monday night following a serious illness at the home of his daughter, Mrs. W.W. Holladay.

The deceased is survived by five children, Hiram and Lucian Conover, Mrs. W.E. Burton, Mrs. Waller Holladay and Mrs. Ben Leach.

He was a respected and beloved citizen in the community where he had lived for many years and his death is a shock to the family and friends. Mr. Conover was a member of the Freedom Baptist Church.

Funeral services and burial were held Tuesday at the family cemetery.
