Funeral serviced for James Thomas Bennett, 77, of Greer Route 1 will be held Sunday afternoon at 3 at the J.F. Floyd Mortuary, conducted by the Revs. J. S. Cobb and C. B. Prince. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens.
Mr. Bennett, a retired Spartanburg County merchant, died at a local hospital Friday morning at 11:30 after a long illness.
Surviving are: his wife, Mrs. Tennie Pearson Bennett of Greer; a son. W. G. Bennett of Spartanburg; 3 daughters, Mrs. B. D. Pearson and Mrs. J.B. Petty, both of Spartanburg, and Mrs. M.M. Moon of Drayton; 2 sisters, Mrs. Candice Keller of West View and Mrs. Corrie Morgan of Route 7; 3 brothers, P.A. and B. W. Bennett of Spartanburg; also 20 grandchildren and 16 great grand children.
Mr. Bennett was twice married. His first wife who died a number of years ago was the former Miss Mamie Riddle of Walnut Grove.
Grandsons will serve as pallbearers at the services. The body will remain at the mortuary till the hour of services.
