Katie May (Kathryn) Baese, 73, 1680 Calkins Ave. No. 2, passed away at her home Sept. 22 from a lingering illness.

She was born March 5, 1909, at Vernal, Utah, the daughter of Virgle and Alice Williams Burke.

She attended schools in Vernal. She was married to Earl Baese Aug. 19, 1926, at Buhl, Idaho. Mr. Baese passed away in 1946. In 1946 she moved from Vernal to Idaho Falls. She was an active member of the LDS Church.

She is survived by one son, Donald Baese, Taylorsville, Utah; five brothers and two sisters; Mrs. Eva Roberts, Idaho Falls; and Mrs. Grace Hatch, Vernal; Floyd Burke and Marvle Burke, both of Iona; Darelle and Kenneth, both of Blackfoot, and Keith of Idaho Falls. There are two grand-children and one great grand-child. She was preceded in death by her parents and one daughter.

Funeral services will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. at Wood Chapel of the Pines with Bishop Timothy H. Baldwin of the Idaho Falls Sixth Ward officiating. The family will meet with friends one hour prior to services at the funeral home. Interment will be at the Iona Cemetery.
