Maude was married initially to Homer Henry, who died in Chicago of Tuberculosis. They had one child, Homer Pennock Henry. She remarried in 1892 to Samuel Leffel Lawrence. They had 7 children. One daughter, Gail, lived in California. Maude traveled back and forth between her children in Kansas and her daughter in California, as they were very close knit. She died of diabetes, and had been blinded by it.
