Rutho Voorhies, 66, R.2 Springville died at 7 p.m. Tuesday at his residence following a five year illness. He was born Marth 7, 1922 in Lawrence County. He married Dorothy Louise Sullivan February 7, 1948 and she survives. He was a retired quarryman and formerly worked at Oolitic Limestone Company and Bedford Central Foundry. He was a member of Hod Carriers Union and of Pentecostal faith. Surviving with his wife are a daughter, Mrs. Trudy Hammond, a granddaughter and a brother, Arnold. Services will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Day & Carter Mortuary. Burial will be in Springville methodist Cemetery. Friends may call from 2-9 pm. Thursday and from 9 a.m. until the service on Friday.
