Mr. Bennett was born in Shelby County on December 14, 1886, the son of James and Nancy Bennett.
He maintained an undertaking establishment on W. Broadway in this city for several years and for the past few years since his retirement from the profession had operated the farm where death occurred.
He is survived by the widow, Erva Bennett, a step-son Kermitt Money of Shelby County, and an adopted daughter, Darlene Bennett.
Mr. Bennett was a member of the Marietta Methodist Church
where furneral rites will be held Monday at 10:00 a.m. with Rev. E.L. Bates of Evansville, assisted by Rev.W.R.
Lathom officiating.
Burial will be in the Miller Cemetery in charge of Reed, Flannigan and Hull Funeral Directors of Columbus.
Friends may call at the late home on the Old Smithland Road.
