Silas Sprague was a Private in the Company commanded by Captain Harris, in the New York Troops commanded by General Hopkins during the War of 1812. He entered the service in Williamsville, NY on or about December 30, 1812 and served 15 days. He again entered the service on or about the 15th of October 1813 and served about a month. On 3 June 1859, as a resident of Ionia County, Michigan, he filed an affidavit of service to obtain payment of expenses from the State of New York.
