Emma was born 13 Sep 1868 in Fort Loudon, Franklin Co., Pennsylvania; died 4 July 1952 McConnellsburg, Fulton Co., Pennsylvania. Emma d/o Jacob Strait who was born 12 April 1843 in Fort Loudon, Franklin Co., PA. and wife Sarah Bell Unger who was born 28 March 1847.


Mrs. Emma M. Mellott
Mrs. Emma M. Mellott of McConnellsburg, died at the Medical Center, July 4,1952. She was born Sept. 13, 1868, being aged 83 years 9 mos., and 11 days. She was a member of the Laurel Ridge church, being a great deal to the building of the present church building. She was a daughter of the late Jacob and Sarah Bell Strait. Surviving children are: Mds. Grace Bivens, Webster Mills, Goldie Keefer, of Fort Loudon, Jessie Keefer, Webster Mills, Jacob, Obed, and Garthwaite, all of Webster Mills, Lynn of St. Thomas, Robert, of McConnellsburg, two brothers, Samuel Strait, of Saluvia, and David Strait of Laidig, one sister, Margaret Baughman also survives.
Funeral services were held Sunday July 6th at the Kelso funeral home, conducted by Rev. T. P. Garland, and Rev. E. J. Croft, Burial was made in Union Cemetery.
