Rebecca J. Floyd, wife of Francis Floyd, died at her home 1111 North Second street, Friday, March 2, at 7:30. Her death was caused by lung trouble, from which she had suffered for years. She was born in Summerset, Kentucky, January 1, 1860, and was a daughter of Zack and Jerusha Ray [sic]. She was married to Francis Floyd, December 31st, 1876, and in 1883 they removed from Kentucky, to Gentry county, Missouri, where they lived until 1903, when they came to Atchison.
Mrs. Floyd was the mother of eight children, seven of whom are living. Elizabeth, having died of lung trouble.

Per "Kentucky, Birth Records, 1847-1911" - Rebecca Jane Roy was born 13 Dec 1859. Although, the headstone indicates a birth year of 1860 - they can be incorrect. (submitted addition)
