Obituary Note

Funeral services will be held from Libby's Funeral Chapel at ten o'clock Saturday morning for Robert H. Kinler who passed away at the Itasca Hospital Tuesday afternoon (01 Apr 1947) The Reverend H. J. Snyder will officiate at the last rites here and also at the services held at the Methodist Church in Pine River at three o'clock, Saturday afternoon. The internment will be at Pine River. Robert H. Kinler was born at Carlow, Hastings County, Ontario, Canada, March 25, 1880. He came with his parents to the United States at the age of two years and resided at Deer Creek until he became a young man. His marriage to Miss Jennie May Nelson took place in Pine River in 1902. In 1927, Mr. Kinler and his family came to Grand Rapids. He was employed by the Blandin Paper Company since 1931. He was a member of the Odd Fellows Lodge and was a past Noble Grand in the order. He is survived by his widow; eight daughters; Mrs. N. H. Surbaugh, Colorado Springs, Colorado; Mrs. A. J. LaRose, Portland, Oregon; Mrs. Lloyd Larson, Vancouver, WA; Mrs. Ruth Hagen, Pequot Lakes; Mrs. Howard Robideau, Longville; and Misses Kathryn, Margaret, and Betty Kinler of Bridgeport, Conn.; and four sons: Robert, of Grand Rapids; William of Pine River; Jack, US Navy, China; and Kenneth of Seattle. Other survivors are 21 grandchildren, one brother William Kinler of Castaic, Calif.; and five sisters: Mrs. L. P. Solberg of Glendate, Calif.; Mrs. George Silk and Mrs. W. H. Gilbert of Wadena; Mrs. A. W. Moulster of Brainerd and Mrs. Carl Bark of Minneapolis.
