THE PARIS NEWS, Tuesday, December 9, 1936: "Death of T. J. Bridges, 78 years old, occurred about 4:30 o'clock Monday morning at his home, Paris, Route 4, the result of a sudden attack. Funeral services will be held here at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the home of his son, Jesse Bridges, 337 West Austin Street, conducted by Robert G. Cook of the Church of Christ, and burial will be made at Evergreen cemetery. Emberson-Brown-Roden funeral home has charge and pallbearers will be J. C. and J. E. Crowley, Vernon Blankenship, Jack Willaimson, Walter Seay and Jack Cope. Mr. Bridges was born in Georgia and came 51 years ago to Lamar County where he had lived ever since. He leaves his wife, Mrs. Mattie Bridges, three sons and three daughters, Barnet, Edwin and Jesse Bridges and Mrs. A. R. Wilson of Atlas and Mrs. Homer Barnett of Howland, several grandchildren and one brother, S. J. Bridges of Paris."
