Mrs. E.A. Albert Called by Death

Elida Adelia Oderkirk, daughter of Adam and Nancy Oderkirk, was born on February 14, 1850, in the state of New York, and passed away at her home in Florid on November 22, 1931, at 5 a.m. She came to Illinois with her parents when about two years of age, and the family settled at DePue, Ill., where they resided for a number of years. Her parents died when she was still a small child and she was taken into the family of Rev. R.J. Davis, where she grew to womanhood. She was united in marriage to Joseph B. Albert on December 11, 1867, the ceremony taking place at Hennepin. To this union, two children were born, Charles Norman, who died in infancy, and Jessie Estelle, who survives. Mr. Albert passed away six years ago. She leaves to mourn their loss, her daughter, Mrs. Jessie Reichwine of Florid, a granddaughter, Mrs. Marguerite Stam of Mason City, Iowa, and two great-grandchildren, Marshall and Marjorie Stam of Mason City, Iowa, and a brother, Charles Oderkirk of Kansas. It is difficult to pay a fitting tribute to the memory of so noble a woman; her life was gentle, but like the still waters, it was deep. None ever entered her home without feeling the warmth of a genuine hospitality and her life was a blessing and a benefaction to all within the sphere of its influence. Mrs. Albert was a faithful member of the Presbyterian Church and for many years was prominent in all activities of the church at Florid. funeral services were held at the Presbyterian Church in Florid Tuesday afternoon. A.H. Levine of Spring Valley, conducted the services. Interment was made in the Florid cemetery. Relatives and friends attended the last rites from Chicago, Utica, LaSalle, Peru, Spring Valley, DePue, Granville, Hennepin, Tonica, Lostant, Cedar Point, Varna and McNabb.
