Warren Luther Allumbaugh, the son of Ross and Thersa E. Allumbaugh, was born in the Chehalem valley, Yamhill county, Oregon, about four miles northwest of Newberg, in the house now owned and occupied by Mr. George Howie, July 20th, 1884, and departed from this life October 29th, 1906.
In his immediate family, besides his parents, he left one brother, Leander, and three sisters, Mrs. Anna Switzer, Mrs. Josephine Allen and Lucella Allumbaugh, to mourn his loss; besides many relatives and fiends.
One, who had a right to know, truthfully said Warren was a boy with very few faults. Although born and raised on a farm of humble and hardworking parents, he early learned the principles that make a man beloved, honored and respected, and a credit to his family. Obedient, respectful and kind - with filial affection - always honoring his parents. Courteous and kind to his associates and friends and all other with whom he came in contact. Cheerful, industrious, temperate and modest. He was a comfort to his parents whose hearts were filled with joy and hope for the future of their beloved child. But alas, how vain our cherished hopes may be. We behold the bud and then the rose in full bloom; but ere we turn the frost of death has touched its beauty. And alas! it faded away and is gone.
