MRS. HARRIET ISRAEL DIES; BURIAL HERE
Mrs. Harriet Elizabeth Metier Israel, 81, widow of George Israel, died at her home in Florida Saturday. Mr. and Mrs. Israel were long-time residents of Chariton and operated a department store in the present J. C. Penney building.
Born October 24, 1883, she was active in the St. Andrew's Episcopal church here.
Graveside services will be conducted at the Chariton cemetery at 3:30 Thursday.
Survivors include a son, George jr., of Florida, a brother, Harry Metier of Circleville, O., and three grandchildren. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
