Mildred Peters Smith passed away peacefully while surrounded by family on July 7, 2010.

Mildred was born to James Leroy and Ida Elizabeth Hardy Peters on February 24, 1919 in Magna, Utah. She was the sixth of seven children.

Mildred moved with her family to Provo, Utah, where she attended school and participated in many activities including being the captain of the high school girl's basketball team.

Mildred married Guy Edward Hardman and they had four children before divorcing. Mildred married Leo Lynn Smith on May 11, 1954 in Nephi, Utah. This union was later solemnized in the Jordan River LDS Temple. Together, they had three children.

Millie was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, where she served in many callings. Her lifelong devotion and service to family and others will live on through those she leaves behind. Mom's warm smile, good cooking, and sharp remarks will be deeply missed.

She is survived by her children, Karen Hacking, Vernal, Utah; James L. Hardman (Carolyn), Vernal, Utah; Ann McNeill, Vernal, Utah; Pauline Aguirre (Mickey), Elko, Nevada; Dennis L. Smith, Salt Lake City, Utah; Pamela Loken (Ray), West Valley City, Utah; Jill Maddox, Sandy, Utah; along with twenty-seven grandchildren, forty-five great-grandchildren, and ten great-great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by her parents, five brothers, one sister, her husband, and two sons-in-law, John Hacking and T.J. McNeill.

Funeral Services will be held on Monday, July 12, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at Jenkins-Soffe Mortuary, 4760 South State Street (100 East), Murray, with visitation from 10:00-10:45 a.m. at the same location.
Interment at the Provo City Cemetery.
