Mrs. Widle J. Shimer, 69, 244 1/2 Hoyt Ave., died Thursday at Ball Hospital after an extended illness.
Born in Hartford City, Mrs. Shimer moved to Muncie at the age of 12 and attended Muncie schools. She was a member of the Gethsemane Apostolic Church. Her husband, Paul G. Shimer, died in 1960.
Surviving are five sons, Charles, Marvin and Fred Shimer, all of Muncie, Paul Eugene Shimer, Detroit, and Phillip Green, Muncie; a daughter, Mrs. Francis Ridge, Pasadena, Texas; a brother, Guy Clark, Indianapolis; two sisters, Mrs. Clara Davis, Muncie, and Mrs. Elnora Clark, Denver, Colo.; 18 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Parson Mortuary with Rev. Harry D. Slattery officiating. Burial will be in Beech Grove Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home 3-5 and 7-9 p.m. Friday (today) and prior to services Saturday.
