HECHENBLEIKNER, MERCEDES VICK - 81, of 29 Rock Creek Dr., Greenville, S.C., died Wednesday, January 28, 1998. Born in Nashville, Tenn., she was a daughter of the late Ira Richard and Sarah Perle Hill Vick.
She lived in Charlotte for 40 years and retired as librarian of East Mecklenburg High School. She was a graduate of Winthrop College. Surviving are a daughter, Madeline H. Freeman of Greenville; two sons, Herbert ''Buddy'' Hechenbleikner of Atlanta, Ga. and Richard V. Hechenbleikner of Charlotte; seven grandchildren, Amanda Freeman, Rebecca Freeman, Nancy Hechenbleikner, Elizabeth Hechenbleikner, Madeline Hechenbleikner, Walter Hechenbleikner and Mary Margaret Harrison; and two great-grandchildren.
