Funeral services for Mrs. Ethel Gideon, 83, of Premont and formerly of Athens, are set for 3 p.m. Thursday at New York Baptist church with the Rev. Lee Teakell officiating.
Burial will be in New York cemetery under direction 0f Carroll and Lehr Funeral Home.

Mrs. Gideon died Tuesday morning in a Premont nursing home after a short illness.
She was born July 16, 1894 in Oklahoma. She lived most of her life in Henderson county and had lived in Premont the past two years. She was a Baptist.
Survivors include two sons, William Horton Gideon of Ben Wheeler and Henry Willis Gideon of Fort Worth; three daughters, Mrs. Grace Marie Guthrie of Premont, Mrs. Beth Oleta Davis of Denison and Eva Odene Richardson of Fort Worth; eleven grandchildren and sixteen great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be grandsons Randall Browning, Ronald Gideon, Jimmy Gideon, Dewayne Gideon, Van Gideon, Stanley Gideon and Steven Richardson.
