3rd child of John & Sarah. Age 71 yrs. 6 mos. 24 days.

p.40: In 1779 John Adams Jr., son of a Massachusetts forge master, visited Samuel Forbes to buy rolls for his father's slitting mill. John got his rolls and also found that Samuel had an attractive daughter, Abigail. The next year John and Abigail married. At the same time, John formed a partnership with Samuel to run the Canaan forge, which then employed fifty hands. Adam brought technical knowledge of iron metallurgy and rolling mills along with sales ability to the Keenan enterprise.

With the deaths of John Adam Jr. in 1826 and Samuel Forbes in 1828 (at age 98), management of their forges, gristmill, and farms in Canaan passed to two of John's sons, Samuel Forbes Adam, a graduate in the Yale class of 1803, and Leonard Adam.
