Douglas Edward Kyle was born in Colorado City, Texas January 12, 1932 passed away in Austin, Texas on July 8, 2010. Doug, or Bud, as he was known in his youth, grew up in Brownwood, Texas developing his love for hunting and fishing along the Pecan Bayou. After serving in the U.S. Army, he settled in Austin where he attended UT, earning a BBA in 1957. He worked in the Texas State Emergency Management Division of the Department of Public Safety for over 30 years. He married Louise Daywood in 1962 and was a wonderful father to his three children. He is survived by his wife, Louise; his son Doug and wife Ashley; his daughters Kelli and husband George Dominguez; and Kim Kyle; his grandchildren, Travis, Jessica, and Madison Kyle; Kailey, Marissa, and Christian Dominguez; Anton and Holden Kyle-Kuess. He is also survived by his sister, Myrtle Cole; his brothers-in-law, Thomas Daywood and wife Katie; Phillip Daywood and wife Sharon; Morris Daywood and wife Millie; David's widow Mary Daywood; and many nieces and nephews. Douglas will be missed tremendously as he was a loving husband and devoted father. A visitation will be held on Friday, July 9, 2010 from 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. at Cook-Walden Funeral Home, 6100 N. Lamar Blvd. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, July 10, 2010 at 1:00 p.m. at the Funeral Home. Interment to follow at Austin Memorial Park.
